Muskoka Training Camp – June 5-7, 2020

Train with the Official Coaching Sponsor for Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka

Racing Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka or elsewhere, or just ready for a weekend of training with friends? You’ll come out of this weekend stronger, more prepared for a race of this distance (or longer), and with more knowledge of training and nutrition specific for long distance racing – triathlon or otherwise.  We are the official coaching company for Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka and have all you need to succeed.

Are You Ready?

To be ready for camp, we recommend you have done at least 2000 meters in the pool several times, a couple of 75 – 90km rides and 75 minutes or more of running at a time.

Duathletes & cyclists are also welcome! We’ll provide you with sport specific workouts while other athletes are practicing their sports.

If you are new to open water swimming, this is the perfect opportunity to get into the water with supportive coaching and other athletes alongside you to work on your skills & confidence.

Details

Most workouts will start and finish at the Canada Summit Centre at 20 Park Drive in Huntsville, ON. Our weekend itinerary is jam packed-  you may want to start your search for accommodation nearby so it’s convenient to get back and forth to group workouts.

We provide sports nutrition during workouts and arrange for an optional group dinner out on Saturday night. All meals are on your own.

Cost: $250.00 + HST ($100 non-refundable deposit to register)

Friday, June 5th

1:30pm:  Welcome to camp! Group meeting & discussion: How to get the most out of the weekend.

2:00 – 3:00pm: Open water swim

3:00 – 3:30pm: Discussion: Sports nutrition for the weekend

3:30 – 5:00pm: Group ride on Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka course

5:00 – 6:00pm: Transition run 30 – 60 minutes

Saturday, June 6th

7:30 – 8:00am: Discussion: How to approach the Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka bike course

8:00am: Group ride on the course

Post ride: Transition run 30 – 90 minutes

2:00 – 3:00pm – Stretch and foam roll clinic

3:00 – 4:00pm – Discussion: Nutrition & strategy for your best half Ironman run

6:30pm – Group dinner out

Sunday, June 7th

8:00 – 9:00am: Open water swim

9:00 – 11:00am: 60 – 120 minute run on the Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka course

Coaches

Coaches Sophie Hotchkiss, Alan Caballero & Cindy Lewis-Caballero

Coach Cindy is the founder of CL Performance Training.  She has been coaching endurance athletes for 12 years and is also a Chiropractor and Personal Trainer.  She raced for years as a professional triathlete.  She coaches triathletes, cyclists, runners, ultra-runners and adventure racers, and has helped athletes from beginner to elite reach their performance.

Coach Sophie is a Registered Massage Therapist, coach, personal trainer and an elite athlete racing in triathlon, bike racing and most recently, cyclo-cross. She shares her expertise and experience with athletes of all ages.

Coach Al is a F.I.S.T. certified bike fit technician, NCCP certified triathlon coach & VDotO2 certified distance run coach. His focus on efficiency of run gait, swim form & bike set up helps athletes maximize aerodynamics to increase speed in all three sports.
